Day 5 - Thwarted By Snow

May 15, 2011 - 33.03 miles - Total so far: 250.5 miles

I continued my ride along the Harrison East road. The road is an unpaved Forest Service Road. It’s only used by people in four-wheel off-road type vehicles. I passed stunning views of the river, mountains, and more breath taking waterfalls.

As I approached the final eight miles of the road I was blocked by snow and unable to continue. My only option was to backtrack 40 miles and take a major road.

Ken => Unbelievable scenery! Great stuff. Keep us posted. Be careful.

Ken => Your backtrack is more than I rode all last summer.

barbara greenberg => It sounds beautiful.. but..OMG...Were you forewarned about the possibility of the blockage?Perhaps you must stick to the straight and narrow..Good Luck!!Mom
