Cora took me to the airport in Columbia, for my flight to Seattle. I shipped my bicycle ahead via FedEx earlier in the week.
I arrived in Seattle and when straight to the FedEx office to pick up my bicycle. The nice folks gave a spot to put my bike together.
After assembling the bicycle I rode about a mile when another cyclist flagged me down. He was Warren, a fellow touring cyclist who was out riding to get ready for his tour at the end of May. Warren guided me through Seattle to my destination.
Tonight I’m being hosted by Aaron who who I met through the Warmshowers website. He given me a camping spot on soft grass near his beautiful garden. He also a rooster to wake me in the morning.
Cora => Welcome to Seattle!! You are on your way...wishing you a safe and joyful journey!I'm glad that you selected a charity that we can donate to on your behalf - protecting our environment is so important. What a great way to support your trip and make a difference. I love you,YDGF
Murray Greenberg => Great start. Hope the next 89 days are equally as good or even .
barbara greenberg => Darling Jeff..,Good beginning..Keep up the good work!!and the continued postings..Love you!!Mom and Dad
Liz => Jeff -I hope that my general directions to the Burke-Gilman Trail (from downtown Seattle) were of some help. Of course after I saw you churn up Yester to 3rd Ave, I thought of some route "refinements". But you looked very capable and what's an adventure without a few extra turns.Have a wonderful time on your trip! I will watch your blog as best I can to live vicariously through your travels. I'm intimidated by Alaska (bugs and bears) but you seem to be well prepared. All the best,LizP.S. If you stop in Seattle on your return trip, let me know and perhaps we can meet up for coffee and stories.
Elise => Happy you arrived there safe. I'm back from Florida and started studying for summer. I love you and can't wait to see pictures of your trip!
